Stinkbugs and Hiking

First of all, can I say how annoyed I am all these stinkbugs?? I'm tired of picking through my raisinbran to make sure none of the 'raisins' are stinkbugs (hasn't happened yet, but could!) If you don't have them where you live, count your blessings! Thankfully they're not poisonous and they don't bite/sting, but they sure are a pest. We made a stinkbug trap from a soda bottle and have caught dozens of them in our house...but they just keep coming in.

We hiked at Lake Robertson on Saturday. We went on the mountain trails. Not really up a mountain, but still a great workout.

Shelter turned into a house of prayer. Worshipping God in creation is my favorite.

    Stinkbugs are really bad about once every five years where my mom lives. They are such nasty creatures. Ewww - I shudder just thinking of them.

Ok, few dear readers, I haven't heard from you much lately. Which I get...because sometimes this blog is kind of BOOOORRRRING! Patrick Wilford is Here!

Both of my boys (what, I have 2 boys?) are napping right now, so it's time to update this blog with Patrick's birth story before I forget the details. Words to describe Patrick's birth: terrifying. fast. wonderful. merciful. unforgettable. We'll start with Friday, September 7th. I had my 39 week OB appointment and was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Promising, but no guarantee I'd go into labor too soon. However, I did go ahead and schedule an elective induction for the following Tuesday (the 11th) because I liked the idea of knowing I'd make it to the hospital, plus my favorite doctor was on call that day, plus Behn had that whole week off of work so I knew he'd be there for everything. Off the Bookshelf

I haven't done one of these in a while, but I have been reading. Here is what is on my bookshelf: The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson I first got to know Clarkson when I read the book Desperate, which she co-authored with Sarah Mae. I friend from church had raved about Clarkson, and so lent me this book when I showed interest in more of her writing. I'm only a few chapters in, but loving it so far. And, frankly, I really need to be reading these sort of books right now, in the throes of "Stop it!" "Don't kick your brother!" "Obey me RIGHT NOW" and the never ending dishes...the early mornings...the snotty noses...the incessant whining...the poopy diapers...in all the ordinary and mundane that is motherhood. To be reminded this is a mission- gives it so much more significance.
