Yes, this is a tutorial. Have I mentioned I'm not crafty? Oh yes, I have. It's still true. Very rarely do I feel like crafting, and then when I do I have to go get everything because I keep very little craft stuff on hand. But, I made this craft up in my head (Really! I did! But if you look on Pinterest then no doubt you will find many similar others) and it took me days to finish. Because children. ^Monsters, both of them. Anyways, here's what you're making: And here's how to do it! Ya'll know I'm not crafty, right? I've said it before. But I always get a crafting itch in the fall. Also, I love my blue door  and wanted to put a fun wreath on it. So, I set about my task! I bought this wreath 4 years ago at a yard sale. I really like it, but "Happy Halloween" and the ghosts are more a Halloween theme, not autumn. Plus, over the 4 years and 3 moves, it's gotten ratty. I decided to strip it down and start fresh! My first idea was to make some florette's from felt, like I did on this wreath . But I didn't find them very inspiring and I ran out of fall-colored felt, so I scratched that idea. As much as I would have liked to go to Michael's Craft store and find some adorable decorations, I wasn't willing to drive 30 minutes to do that. I know these are so last year...or maybe even the year before that...but when I saw these wreaths all over the internet way back when, I knew I wanted to make one. And I finally did. Ya'll- I am not crafty. I like to think I am going to be, but that is unlikely. Other than a stint enjoying cross stitching when I was about 8 years old, I have not crafted anything. Or at least not very much of anything. I just did not get that creative bone. But these were easy. Of course, being not-crafty, I made it harder than it needed to be. For example, I bought a straw wreath and like a dummy, I took off the plastic.  Why did I do that? Straw was everywhere. And even now, straw sticks out between the yarn in some spots. My wonderful, sweet mother was here last week. We had fun! I LOVE having her around. She helped out a lot and was great company. I miss her already. Before she came, I mentioned I wanted to give my LR a new look. It seems we'll be in this house another year and I just wanted to make the place more fresh. Mom came with good ideas and lots of motivation. I should've taken 'before' pics but I didn't. Some of what we did was just re-arranging. For example, Stonewall got moved from the fireplace mantle to this bookshelf: The big project, though, was making these framed pieces. It was all mom's idea and SHE made them, not me. I take no credit. She did a beautiful job. We bought the frames at the Habitat Restore and at the Antique mall.
