Super Sale Saturday (I found curtains)

Image
Don't you just love summertime and yard sales? We do. Behn and I took the boys on a hike to a park we hadn't been to. We drove past a respectable looking yard sale and hit that bad boy up. I got lots of puzzles and books for the kids, and a treat for me: curtains for the kitchen window! Excuse the poor photography. I love these curtains though! Just perfect, and all for $1. They're a win!

Thrift Store Find!

Note: I just sneezed and Graham said, "Bless you, Mama." Aw! Around Christmas this year Behn and I wanted to get Graham a chair to have for the living room. He always wants to sit somewhere when he's watching a movie or just hanging out with the family. But we looked into it, and for a nice one we'd be spending $50. So we voted nope. Today I went to a church thrift store with my grandmother and guess what I found for $8: It's hardly worn at all and it doesn't smell funky for anything. And I think the elephant and crocodile are tasteful and cute. Graham wouldn't sit in it for a picture. He was...er....working on filling his diaper. But he does seem to like it a lot! Made my day to find a deal :)

But I wanted it to be a nice place for him to sleep and play until then. The room needed a rug. As much as I adore hardwood floors, they aren't very cozy. I looked for a rug for months. They are expensive! At least if you want a decent one. I wasn't even too picky on color, I just wanted something quality. But alas, despite checking stores for sales and resale shops for deals, I just couldn't find what I was looking for. When my mom came earlier this month, we were on a hunt for picture frames for the living room project. This led us to one of the antique malls around here, where I saw, and subsequently grabbed and held close to my body with a clinching grip, this gem: $15. Seriously. The handwritten tag said it was from Pottery Barn. Maybe it is, but they could have said it was from anywhere, I s...
