Makeover?

My house needs a makeover. Well, at least my living room does.


  • Pictures need to be updated, printed, and framed. (It's challenging hanging pics in this house, since our landlord doesn't want us putting nails in the wall. We have to buy those expensive 3M sticky hangers, and even then sometimes our frames come crashing down. SO annoying. But it's still worth the effort, I suppose.)

  • Outgrown baby items need to be removed and properly stored in the basement. I'm tired of tripping over them.

  • I've given up on getting a new couch. Maybe when Behn gets a promotion or new job. It's just not in the budget now. But for some reason the old loveseat hasn't been bothering me as much lately. I guess God changed my heart about that. Anyway, I would like to maybe re-arrange the living room.

  • I want to dry some of the zinnias I've grown to enjoy them all year and put them someplace nice.

Anyway, I'm kind of hoping my mom will help me with this next week when she visits- this place just needs a facelift since we'll probably be staying here another year :)

    ive given up on my living room too... seeing as how we'll be outta here in 6 months! whoop!

Ok, few dear readers, I haven't heard from you much lately. Which I get...because sometimes this blog is kind of BOOOORRRRING! Patrick Wilford is Here!

Both of my boys (what, I have 2 boys?) are napping right now, so it's time to update this blog with Patrick's birth story before I forget the details. Words to describe Patrick's birth: terrifying. fast. wonderful. merciful. unforgettable. We'll start with Friday, September 7th. I had my 39 week OB appointment and was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Promising, but no guarantee I'd go into labor too soon. However, I did go ahead and schedule an elective induction for the following Tuesday (the 11th) because I liked the idea of knowing I'd make it to the hospital, plus my favorite doctor was on call that day, plus Behn had that whole week off of work so I knew he'd be there for everything. Off the Bookshelf

I haven't done one of these in a while, but I have been reading. Here is what is on my bookshelf: The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson I first got to know Clarkson when I read the book Desperate, which she co-authored with Sarah Mae. I friend from church had raved about Clarkson, and so lent me this book when I showed interest in more of her writing. I'm only a few chapters in, but loving it so far. And, frankly, I really need to be reading these sort of books right now, in the throes of "Stop it!" "Don't kick your brother!" "Obey me RIGHT NOW" and the never ending dishes...the early mornings...the snotty noses...the incessant whining...the poopy diapers...in all the ordinary and mundane that is motherhood. To be reminded this is a mission- gives it so much more significance.
