Baby Trader

I cannot believe I am almost 13 weeks pregnant already! Being pregnant in Ukraine did cause some challenges, but overall it did not hinder the trip. It was nice that Jess and I had the same things going on and could talk about and enjoy this special time together.

This week we had our first ultrasound. We are in awe of this little life, a life that we did not create, but that God created in His wisdom. The baby was so cute and energetic! I think it really set in for Behn, to see that little person on the screen. He can't stop talking about it and looking at the pictures. We are in love!

The day I found out I was pregnant was a Sunday morning. We were in shock and disbelief that this actually may be happening, after so much prayer and wondering if this was going to happen for us. That morning in church we sang the beautiful hymn, "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty." This hymn will forever reflect God's goodness to us and remind of us how He worked in our lives to create this child. The words so perfectly matched the joy in our hearts that morning:

"Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation!
Oh my soul praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation.
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near,
Praise Him in glad adoration!
Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things to wonderfully reigneth,
shelters thee under His wings and so gently sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen, how thy desires e'er have been
granted in what He ordaineth.
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee.
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.
Ponder anew, what the Almighty can do,
if with His love He befriend thee!
Praise to the Lord, o let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath come now with praises before Him.
Let the 'amen' sound from His people again,
gladly for aye we adore Him!"
