Welcome to Behn and Megan's little blog! We're just a simple family learning to love the Lord with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves. This is a record of our story.

It is so lovely here in Virginia right now. The air just smells like flower blossoms.
I am in love with the countryside.
Behn and I went mountain biking on Sunday afternoon. It was intense! (Even though it was labeled an "easy trail." I guess we need to brush up on our biking.)
Behn at the Lexington Resevior. It was beautiful there!
Both of my boys (what, I have 2 boys?) are napping right now, so it's time to update this blog with Patrick's birth story before I forget the details. Words to describe Patrick's birth: terrifying. fast. wonderful. merciful. unforgettable. We'll start with Friday, September 7th. I had my 39 week OB appointment and was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Promising, but no guarantee I'd go into labor too soon. However, I did go ahead and schedule an elective induction for the following Tuesday (the 11th) because I liked the idea of knowing I'd make it to the hospital, plus my favorite doctor was on call that day, plus Behn had that whole week off of work so I knew he'd be there for everything. So it just made sense, even though I did want to try to have another natural childbirth. On Saturday (the 8th), I was excited because I knew there was a coldfront coming in. I was so ready for cool, unhumid air, but also was hopeful the change in the air pressure would c...
Ahhhh naptime. I should be digging a flower bed, cleaning my kitchen, and writing a grocery list. Instead I will blog. Recently someone saw G's cloth diaper peaking out from his pants and skeptically asked if we cloth diaper. My response, with a smile, is of course yes. We've been cloth diapering Graham for more than a year now. When I was pregnant with him, I was brainstorming ways to save money and decided that if I was going to be home with him, I may as well take the plunge and cloth diaper. When I first heard about the cloth diaper trend, I laughed. That was years ago, before I was pregnant or had kids. I just thought it was a hippy trend and lots of extra work. And here I am doing it! Cloth diapering works for us. I know it's not for everyone, and I don't push it on my mom friends (very few of whom are CD'ing). When my friend asked me about it recently she immediately went into full-on defensive 'why we don't cloth diaper and I'm not c...
Not sure exactly what a Liebster is...but my friend Amanda @ wandering on purpose nominated me, so here I am. I'm going to tell you 5 facts about myself, then nominate 5 others for the Liebster. So...here goes! 1. I used to drive a pick-up truck. An 87 Chevy with a big ol' engine. I thought I was hot-diggety driving that thang. This is when I was 20 and living in Missouri for college. I drove it home to Delaware with my mama after I graduated. That thing was really cool, honestly. I ditched it when I started commuting to University of Delaware because it was bad on gas. I still miss it though... 2. I love to travel. I love seeing new places, cultures and people. I've been to England, Scotland, Bahamas, Spain, Bermuda, Mexico, and Ukraine. And several of the United States. So far. 3. I really, really love riding horses and miss it so much! I am looking forward to the day that I have the opportunity to ride again! 4. Once my best friend Kiri and I went hiking and...
